Mission Statement:

The mission of the Western Illinois University AOD Research Center is to allow Western Illinois University students, faculty and others to share their unique alcohol and other drug research projects and publications. The objective would be to increase collaboration among departments and utilize research to promote action.

The problem:

According to NIAAA, 80% of college students drink and over 40% of those report binge drinking at least one time throughout the past two weeks. Alcohol use can have a negative impact on college students and has been known to contribute to many adverse outcomes such as academic problems, unsafe sex, sexual assault, injury and death.
