Mission Statement

The Career Services Office in 116 Sherman Hall serves the primary function of preparing students to market themselves to prospective employers. This preparation takes many forms, including career research and exploration, resume writing, and preparation of letters of communication.

It also includes job searching, employer research, and interviewing skills development. Weekly and daily workshops are available for the campus community on subjects such as resume writing, dressing for success, job searching, and interviewing.

Advising a student

You'll also find a large, comprehensive resource library in Sherman Hall 116. It contains a multitude of job listings, both in the state of Illinois and nationwide, organized geographically and by career. Our resource library also contains company information, job and company indexes and directories, information concerning graduate schools, federal job listings, career exploration books, newspapers, magazines, journals, and videos.

The office also services students who seek to be placed in cooperative education programs, internships, and career employment positions. Our services and comprehensive resources are available to students at all levels in their search for occupational and career planning endeavors.
