International Education
International Education at Western Illinois University assists international students in their adjustment to
living in a new country and speaking a new language. The office provides admissions information for those international students
who wish to study as an undergraduate, as a graduate, or as a student of English as a second language.
WESL Institute offers an intensive program in English as a Second Language
for international students who are preparing to enter an American college or
university. Since 1973, students from over 95 countries have studied academic
English, American life and culture at WESL which is located on the friendly,
safe campus of Western Illinois University in rural Illinois.
