How To Find Your Workstation ID
Your Workstation ID is a six-digit number preceeded by the letters "WIU". This number uniquely identifies your computer. You need to know your Workstation ID when you request tech support.
There are two ways to get your workstation ID. The first is the easiest because it doesn't require your computer to be on. The second way is also simple, but it requires that your computer be working.
The first way:
Look on your computer (NOT your monitor) for a tag that looks like the picture below. It will start with a 4 and will be six digits long.
The second way:
Click on the Start button
Right click on My Computer and click on the Properties option
Click on the Computer Name tab
You will notice in the picture above, I have highlighted the part that has your workstation number. When you contact someone for help, please give them the six digit number that follows the letters "WIU".
