Work order Entry System (WES)

WES submits work orders for you from your local machine (the personal computer you have access to). WES already knows some of the information required to fill out the work order form. You have to tell WES the rest of the information needed.. WES starts automatically when the user logs into their computer and he appears as an icon in the systems tray (scroll down for a definition of the systems tray). In order to use WES, double-click on the icon in the systems tray, or right-click the icon in the systems tray and choose "Open HelpDesk Request."

  1. TO SUBMIT THE WORK ORDER:

    A. Double click on WES's icon in the systems tray.
    B. Fill in the Call Summary.
    C. Specify the name of the person for whom the request is being made.
    D. Select the workstation and the Caller ID.
    E. Describe the problem in detail.
    F. Click on the "Submit Work Order" button and Wes will instantly notify all technicians that you are having a problem.

  2. TO CANCEL THE WORK ORDER AT ANY POINT:
    Click the "Cancel Work" Order Button.


  3. TO CLEAR THE SELECTIONS MADE ON THE FORM:
    Click the "Clear Form" Button.


  4. TO CLOSE WES:
    Select File Exit from the menu


  5. ITEMS ON THE MENU BAR
    File Exit - Select this option to close WES.

    Help About - Displays the Version of WES that you have.



  6. More Information
    This message displays the following information about the user's computer.

    The current date and time.
    The central processing unit (CPU) in your computer and the speed.
    The amount of (RAM) in your computer.
    The operating system installed in your computer.
    The user and the department they work for.
    The server the user is logged into and their workstation number.
