We use Novell Directory Print Services (NDPS) to manage our network printers. When you find a network printer to install the printer drivers are stored on the network and moved to your computer when you install the printer. NDPS is used to manage network print jobs, control access to the printer, and provide the correct printer drivers.

Printer Drivers
What are the correct printer drivers?
If your printer is not performing correctly, you may not have the correct driver installed. When Windows locates a driver for your printer, it is typically a basic driver that was developed by Microsoft. The printer manufacturer develops printer drivers that are specific to the printer. These drivers may have different paper sizes or additional printing options that the basic driver does not have. For assistance on this, contact the Helpdesk and someone will come out and check to see if you have the most recent printer driver installed. This does not apply to network printers. NDPS installs the most current printer driver when you add the network printer.
