The Interfraternity Council (IFC) is the governing body of the fraternities. It consists of one chapter representative from each of the fraternities and the IFC Executive Board. The IFC Executive Board is made up of five members: (1) the president, who oversees the meetings; (2) the vice president, who oversees the activities of all IFC committees; (3) the Recruitment coordinator, who organizes all activities pertaining to Formal Recruitment; (4) the treasurer, who is in charge of collecting dues and other financial issues; and (5) the secretary, who takes the minutes, keeps attendance of the members, and handles correspondence.
The Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) serves as the governing body of the historically African-American and Latino/Latina organizations at WIU. MGC Meetings are Monday at 8 PM in the Algonquin Room of the University Union.
Panhellenic Council (PHC) is the governing body of the sororities and is responsible for setting standards and policy for the chapters at Western Illinois University. Members of the council consist of six executive board members, five committee chairs, and two delegates from each of the six sororities. The council provides programming, camaraderie, and information to the members of PHC through educationals, roundtables, and forums. They are also responsible for Membership Recruitment Week for all women of Western Illinois University.
