Volunteer Services is here to help connect the students and faculty of Western Illinois University to the agencies and programs throughout the community of Macomb. If your agency or project is new to the area or to Volunteer Services, please fill out the Agency Information Form. Once that has been completed, you may enter as many volunteer opportunities as you desire by completing the Volunteer Request Form. Please fill out one opportunity per request form. All of this information is entered into the Volunteer Opportunities Database. The Database is available for all Western students to search and locate volunteer opportunities to fit their needs. If you would like Volunteer Services to mail you paper forms to fill out, please contact us at 309-298-3232.
Volunteerism on college campuses is at an all-time high. Let us help you tap into that energy and enthusiasm about volunteering. Please take a moment to fill out the Agency Information Form and as many Volunteer Request Forms as you have volunteer opportunities to help connect the students of Western Illinois University with the community for which they live in.
Another way Volunteer Services is trying to connect the Western community to the Macomb community is through a practice called Service-Learning. Service-Learning links students with the community through service and reflection to enhance the classroom experience. Service-Learning is quickly becoming a common practice across the nation as both an effective, practical learning tool that both educates and encourages involvement.
