WIU Job Listings

First time student employees must complete an I-9 form when hired. The I-9 form requires students to bring with them original employment documents. Most students use either an original unexpired U.S. Passport OR a WIU School I.D. Card AND an original Social Security Card. There is a complete list of all acceptable documents on the last page of the I-9 form.

    Duties: PERFORM NETWORK AND LINUX SERVER ADMINISTRATION TASKS IN CONJUNCTION WITH FULL-TIME STAFF.  THIS IS A HIGHLY TECHNICAL POSITION.  THIS POSITION WILL PROVIDE EXPOSURE TO MANY LEADING TECHNOLOGIES AND TECHNOLOGY STRATEGIES. THE WORK ENVIRONMENT CONSISTS OF 300+ LINUX SERVERS, PRIVATE CLOUDS, AND MULTIPLE DATA CENTERS WITH HA AND DR.THE NETWORK IS PHYSICALLY SEPARATE FROM THE UNIVERSITY'S NETWORK.
    Qualifications: CANDIDATES WITH PRIOR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE PERFORMING LINUX AND NETWORK ADMINISTRATION TASKS IN A BUSINESS-SERVER COMPUTER ENVIRONMENT WILL FIND THIS POSITION CHALLENGING BUT REWARDING.  THE SELECTED CANDIDATE MUST BE SELF-MOTIVATED, HAVE GOOD COMMUNICATION SKILLS, AND BE ABLE TO COMPLETE THIS POSITION'S DUTIES INDEPENDENTLY WITH MINIMAL TRAINING.  A SATISFACTORY FINGERPRINT BACKGROUND CHECK IS REQUIRED FOR THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE.
