What is the FYE Program?
University Housing and Dining Service has developed the residential First Year Experience (FYE) program to assist our first year students with their academic and personal transition into the university environment and residence hall community. All first year residents will be encouraged to participate in FYE Seminars and programs that will help them become actively involved in their residence hall and campus community.
What are the FYE Seminars?
The FYE Seminars for all first year residents will provide information and support for academic and social transitions encountered in a student’s first year at WIU. There will be 10 FYE Seminars offered within each freshmen residence hall. To sign up for seminars online, click here
First year residents wishing to participate in the FYE Seminars will be placed within a Freshmen Seminar Group (F.S.G.). The F.S.G. provides residents with an opportunity to get to know and establish friendships in the residence hall they are living, while also gaining knowledge and skills that will help them in their transition into the university environment.
