Description:
The International House, purchased in 2005, is a community of 30 students interested in an international living opportunity. The house, located adjacent to campus, is a great environment for students to learn in a welcoming environment. The house will not require a meal plan and has a large kitchen and dining room where students can cook for themselves. The rooms are all double rooms and have one bathroom shared by every 4 bedrooms.
Students from all corners of the world live and work together, while
learning from one another and sharing the common experience of attending
Western Illinois University. From the moment one walks in the house
and smells international cooking, sees the brilliant colored flags
from all nations, and meets people from Korea, Japan, Germany, Romania,
Mexico, and many more different countries, one is immediately taken
with the open and accepting atmosphere. The opportunity to meet students
from other countries and learn about different cultures and customs
is one of the most unique and exciting experiences that we offer at
Western Illinois University. Come visit and be transported to another
land!
